(Appetite)

的倾向”时,应该用 have a tendency to do sth.

This drug has a tendency to cause headaches.

There’s a tendency to alcoholism in this family.

(Howard Schultz)

I delegate you to do this.

I delegate you as the representative .

If you’ve ever been on a coffee date with someone who chose black coffee over the typical indulgent caffeinated creation, you might want to take your latte and run. Apparently, you’re on a date with a psychopath.
A new study from the University of Innsbruck in Austria found that people who prefer their coffee black often have psychopathic or sadistic tendencies.
The study, published in the journal Appetite, surveyed over 1,000 adults about their flavor preferences. They also took four different personality tests that assessed machiavellian traits like narcissism, psychopathy, sadism, and aggression.
Researchers found a trend that suggested a correlation between preferences for black coffee, and other bitter tastes, and sadistic or psychopathic personality traits. Find out the best ways to spot a narcissist before it’s too late!
They also found that people who enjoyed milky or sugary coffee, and other sweet flavors, generally tended to have more “agreeable” personality traits like sympathy, cooperation, and kindness.
The closest correlation found in the study was between bitter foods, like radishes and tonic water, and “everyday sadism,” or the enjoyment of inflicting moderate levels of pain on others.
Yikes.
The researchers went further, suggesting that this association between bitter foods and psychopathic tendencies could “become chronic” and get worse with time.
Not a great first impression.
But there is hope for you and your casual coffee date. The researchers made it clear that “bitter” is an extremely subjective term, and that may have limited their study. They also are unsure of what causes the correlation between bitter tastes and disagreeable personality traits.
It’s also important to note that taste preferences are intensely influenced by our culture and personal experiences—not entirely by our personality traits—and that taste preferences often change over time. Remember when you couldn’t stand the taste of veggies as a kid? Most people don’t even like coffee the first time they try it!
Black coffee drinkers are also more health-conscious, even if they don’t know it. Pure coffee has all kinds of amazing health benefits, while milk and sugar obviously don’t. People who drink their coffee black reap all the health benefits of coffee without any added fat or calories.
So while you’re on your coffee date, just remember that not all psychopaths like black coffee. But most people who like black coffee exhibit psychopathic tendencies. See the difference?
Bottom line, maybe skip the coffee altogether and just go for dinner and a movie instead.

Before Jarret Stopforth takes his first sip of coffee, he adds cream and sugar to mask the bitterness.
But then, he thought, why settle for a regular cup of joe? So the food scientist decided to reengineer coffee, brewing it without the bitterness — or the bean.
“I started thinking, we have to be able to break coffee down to its core components and look at how to optimize it,” he explains.
Stopforth, who has worked with other food brands such as Chobani, Kettle & Fire and Soylent, partnered with entrepreneur Andy Kleitsch to launch Atomo.
The pair turned a Seattle garage into a brewing lab and spent four months running green beans, roasted beans and brewed coffee through gas and liquid chromatography to separate and catalog more than 1,000 compounds in coffee to create a product that had the same color, aroma, flavor and mouthfeel as coffee.
“As we got deeper into the process, we learned more about the threats to the coffee world as a whole — threats to the environment from deforestation, global warming and [a devastating fungus called] rust, and we were even more committed to making a consistently great coffee that was also better for the environment,” Stopforth says.

Coca-Cola’s Costa Coffee launches RTD beverage in the UK
After Coca-Cola bought Costa Coffee for $5.1 billion last year, it was expected that given Coke’s expertise, the next move for the brand would be to expand Costa’s ready-to-drink coffee across markets globally.
Now, almost a year later, that prediction is true.
The new line of canned coffee is spreading across Europe, and while the company hasn’t yet committed to bringing the product stateside, there’s potential for it in the U.S. market.
More companies have been moving into the coffee category because it is trendy and a money maker for brands.
Not only do Americans continue to rely on java for an early morning jolt, but companies have found that it is a lucrative market to get into as consumers increasingly search for more premium options.
Gourmet coffee now represents half of all consumption for the first time in history, according to research from the National Coffee Association.
By choosing to enter the ready-to-drink category, Coca-Cola is combining its enormous global distribution system with the growing popularity of on-the-go gourmet coffee.
Consumers crave convenience and this easy, on-the-go canned coffee line could satisfy that. Mordor Intelligence reports that in 2018, the North American RTD coffee industry was valued at $2.5 billion and is expected to grow at a CAGR of 2.7% to about $2.65 billion by 2023.
However, this growth has come with fragmentation.
With demand for single-serve, ready-to-drink, premium and a whole host of other experimental coffees like butter coffee, probiotic and protein-infused CPG coffee products, growth in this industry is difficult to tap into.
More brands are launching ready-to-drink coffee, so Costa will have a fair share of competition. Nestlé purchased Starbucks’ retail products for $7.15 billion last May, which offers a variety of different RTD coffee beverages.
And previously, Nestlé acquired Chameleon Cold-Brew and a majority stake in Blue Bottle Coffee. But it’s not only Big Food taking advantage of this trend. More startups are also launching these ready-to-drink products.
Data from CB Insights shows that coffee startups were on pace to raise more than $1 billion by the end of 2018.

Do people go to Starbucks for good coffee?

I go to Starbucks to do work. I can rent a desk there for a few dollars an hour. I get a reasonable internet connection and for some reason, I can focus there. The coffee is not that great but I regard it as fee.

I believe the reason so many people enjoy it is because Starbuck’s espresso is a dark roast with a strong (dare I say bitter) flavor to which, when you add sweet and creamy ingredients to, you can still taste the coffee. That’s key. Starbuck’s coffee goes well with cream and sugar, if you’re into that. It’s strong and bold no matter what you do to it.
In my experience as a Barista I’ve tasted some beautiful, single origin coffee beans, medium roast, they had interesting and varied flavor profiles (sometimes “tea-like”) , and they were all delicious as is, black, but it (practically) ruined them if you add cream and sugar.
If someone likes a strong cup of coffee, to which they like to add cream and sugar to, they would typically complain about a light or a medium roast.
Ultimately, people like what they like, and they don’t really care why.

You need to broaden your interpretation of what the words ‘good coffee’ mean.
If you’re an Italian purist it means the quality of the bean, where it’s bought in from, how it’s pressed and then served into the cup.
But you (I’m taking leap here) live in NON-MEDITERRANEAN country. If you do. Here is what ‘good coffee’ means:
Finding a convenient ‘reason’ to sit, relax and do nothing with the people you love/care for.
So yes. Starbucks do do ‘good coffee’.

星图注册官网《Q3249-1383 》There is no shortage of delicious coffee creamers you can get out there. Seriously, whether you want your coffee to taste like a delicious candy bar, Easter candy, or breakfast cereal, you are covered my friend. And while Starbucks has been killing it with the coffee creamer game for a while, they recently announced a new creamer innovation that truly will rock your world.
Starbucks is adding non-dairy options to its existing line of Starbucks Creamers, the brand confirmed with Delish today. These creamers are made with a blend of almond milk and oat milk and much like their preexisting coffee creamers, come in flavors inspired by your favorite handcrafted Starbucks drinks.

These new creamers will come in two different flavors, with the first being Caramel Flavored Non-Dairy Creamer, which is inspired by Starbucks Caramel Macchiato. It’s made with notes of buttery caramel and hints of vanilla flavor for a drink that will make you feel so cozy. You can also find a new non-dairy Hazelnut Flavored Creamer, inspired by Starbucks’ Hazelnut Latte, which I will be adding to my coffee all autumn long.
Both creamers are set to hit grocery stores nationwide in August so you can start dreaming up your coffee creations now. (Psst: Some people have spotted them in stores already!)
This is just the latest in Starbucks’ foray into plant-based options. They recently rolled out coconut milk- and almond milk-based drinks nationally, as well as oat milk in select locations. I’ve personally been downing their new Cold Brew with Dark Cocoa Almond Milk Foam like a madwoman so all this alternative milk news has made me pretty psyched! It’s the little things.
